In the Spring of 2017, my friends at Digital Kitchen invited me to help with an exciting project for the brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The venue is home to the Atlanta Falcons NFL team as well as the Atlanta United MLS team. The distinct architecture of the stadium is crowned with the world's largest video board, which spans 62,350 square feet. Our job was to make it beautiful.
A select number of installation pieces were chosen to run in the screens, and I had the honor bringing one of them to life. This piece is titled "Cityscapes" and highlights the venue's essential contribution to the landscape of Atlanta. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a sports and cultural hub - a vibrant source of energy that brings color and texture to the city around it.
The entire piece is approximately two minutes long and took about seven weeks to animate.
